Bear Sightings in New York?

Recently there has been a spate of bear sightings across the Hudson River in New Jersey.  While usually not dangerous, bear sightings can be a little unnerving. However, it is possible to see a very famous bear here in New York City, under considerably safer circumstances.
Just visit the Children’s Center in the Main Branch of the New York Public Library located at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street.  There you can see the original Winnie the Pooh, the stuffed bear made famous by author A.A. Milne in stories he originally wrote for his son, Christopher Robin Milne.  While there, you can also see several of Winnie’s friends, including Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, and Tigger too!
